Rutherford County Government provides eligible employees $35,000 of term life insurance as part of the benefit package. Eligibility for the benefit is determined by the same guidelines for all other benefits.

  • Full time employees

  • Elected public officials

  • Part time or seasonal employees who work at least thirty(30) hours per week at least thirty-six (36) weeks of the year and employed for at least one (1) continuous year

  • Interim teacher who has worked in one (1) specific position for at least one hundred(100) continuous days in a given year

Eligible employees may purchase additional life insurance on themselves, spouse, domestic partner or child(ren).

Any and all additional coverage is subject to plan guidelines as stated in the life insurance policy.

Currently life insurance is underwritten by The Hartford Insurance Company.
