Deputy Jackie Bauer

David Youree Elementary

Hello, my name is Jackie Bauer; I began my Law Enforcement studies at Nashville State Community College in 1995 and studied Criminal Justice.  I went on to graduate the Police Academy at Cleveland State Community College in 1997. After the academy, I immediately began working with the State of Tennessee’s “Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force” as an undercover agent.  In this assignment, I went undercover as a student in an area Middle Tennessee High School to prevent drug sales from reaching our students.  After several years at the Task Force, I moved on to the LaVergne Police Department where I served on patrol for approximately seven years.  In 2006, I was promoted to the Criminal Investigations Division where I served as a detective until July 2008.  Then, I received the wonderful opportunity to serve at the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department in the School Resource Officer’s Division.  In my opinion, this is the best division to work in law enforcement.  It’s a lot more positive, and rewarding to serve and protect our students!   At David Youree, I don’t see the evils of the world; I see the good things in everyone and it’s such a joy to interact with your kids!  I teach them all types of law and safety classes.  I feel that I have a greater influence on the school children and due to this type of relationship; there are more long lasting positive outcomes.  I’m also a “Rad Kids” instructor (a children's personal safety program); I also serve on several committees such as: Education, Safety, and Respect and Protect, The Special Olympics and the Read to Succeed!  In addition, I am also a vehicle collision avoidance instructor (VCAT) for high school students and a drill instructor with Operation Integrity (boot camp for juveniles ages 12-17). It is a privilege and a blessing serving you and your child as an SRO!  If I can assist you in anyway, please contact me at
