Deputy Curtis Brinkley

Oakland High School

My name is Curtis Brinkley. I am currently assigned to Oakland High School as a School Resource Officer. I started my law enforcement career with the City of Murfreesboro Police Department. During my time with MPD I was first assigned to the patrol division. I was later selected to be with the C.O.P.S. unit and was assigned to the Franklin Heights Housing community located on January Street. I was later assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit (Directed Patrol) and was promoted to Field Training Officer. I remained there until I was hired by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. Before I became a Law Enforcement officer I was employed as a Firefighter. Before leaving to become a Police Officer I had made the rank of Lieutenant and was the Department's training coordinator. I enjoy teaching and building relationships with people of all ages and that is one reason I choose this position. I am a Christian, married and have five children. During my off time I am a volunteer instructor with the Young Marines in Rutherford County. I am happy, excited, humbled and blessed to be where I am and give God all the credit!
