Rutherford County Government is committed to providing employees and their eligible family members a comprehensive, cost effective and affordable benefits package. The benefits offered to employees are designed to allow employees a choice of plans that will meet their specific needs and individual circumstances. Programs have been integrated into the plans to promote, encourage and support healthy lifestyles. Premiums for the Medical, Dental and Vision plans are deducted pre-tax subject to Section 125 of the IRS code.

 Enrollment Information

New Rutherford County employees have 30 calendar days from their date of hire to enroll in the benefits, with day one being the date of hire. Eligibility verification is required for any dependent added to medical, dental, and/or benefits. Documents must be submitted within 60 days from the new employees date of hire. Please review the Dependent Eligibility Definitions and Required Documents before enrolling.

You can enroll in benefits through MyBenefitsChannel. It's important to know that you cannot finalize your enrollments on a mobile device. You will have to use a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet to complete your benefits enrollment.

 Special Enrollments

You have 30 calendar days to notify Insurance & Risk Management if you experience a qualifying life event during the plan year. You will be required to provide proof of the life event and the eligibility documentation in order to add or make changes to your insurance benefits. Dependent Verification documents can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed directly to our office. Remember, NEVER send original documents by mail.
