Community Care of Rutherford County, Airport Authority, and Rutherford County Emergency Communications District employees are not eligible for Rutherford County's Long or Short Term Disability insurance.

 

 Short Term Disability

Rutherford County offers voluntary Short Term Disability coverage through The Standard effective January 01, 2021. Short Term Disability insurance replaces a portion of your pay for up to 180 days if you can't work because of an illness, non-work-related injury, or pregnancy.

If you are enrolled in Short Term Disability and become disabled, you may apply for benefits by contacting The Standard at the phone number below. You may also contact the Insurance & Risk Management Department if you need help submitting your claim.

 Long Term Disability

Rutherford County provides full time employees a Long Term Disability insurance plan as part of the employee benefit package.

The Long Term Disability plan insures up to two-thirds of your covered earnings, up to a maximum of $6,000 per month. There is a 180-day waiting period before benefits become payable.
