Rutherford County Fire Rescue Respond to Large Brush Fire

Rutherford County - TN (August 28, 2026)   Rutherford County Fire Rescue (RCFR) responded to a large brush fire on Stones River Lane around 12:45 p.m. today after the fire became uncontrolled and began spreading through the area.

Due to the size and conditions of the fire, additional resources were requested to assist RCFR crews. Firefighters worked for a few hours to contain the fire, extinguish active flames, and thoroughly check the area for hot spots to prevent the fire from rekindling.

Assisting agencies included Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS), Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), Christiana Volunteer Fire Department, Eagleville Fire Department, and Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department.

RCFR reminds residents to use extreme caution when burning outdoors. Dry conditions, wind, and other environmental factors can cause a small fire to quickly become difficult or impossible to control. Always check current burning restrictions and make sure any outdoor fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.
