Rutherford County Solid Waste handling high volume of holiday trash

Rutherford County – TN (12/27/2024)  Rutherford County Solid Waste (RCSW) Department is dealing with a high volume of trash traffic to the convenience centers as people dispose of trash from the Christmas holiday. 

RCSW is coordinating with Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and the La Vergne Police Department.   Solid Waste Director Bishop Wagener said, “ We are working together to our partner agencies in order to keep the public safe as we manage the expected high volume of traffic from the holiday. “

RCSW requests that residents avoid lining up or queuing on roads and highways. Queuing on roadways impedes through traffic and causes accidents. If the line to the convenience center extends to the road, please bypass the center, go to another center, or come back later.

RCSW will operate extended hours of 7:30 AM until 5:00 PM through Sunday, December 29.
