Accident and Critical Illness Insurance Plans
Rutherford County offers eligible employees the opportunity to enroll in supplemental insurance.
Accident insurance can supplement your budget when the unexpected strikes you or your family. Benefit payments are made directly to you and can be applied to healthcare or daily life expenses, such as mortgage, rent, or groceries.
Critical Illness insurance can provide you with a one-time lump sum when you or a member of your family is diagnosed with a covered illness. Covered illnesses include cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, Alzheimer's disease, and more. See the Critical Illness Insurance Certificate below for a full list of covered illnesses.
Please Note: Our Accident and Critical Illness has transitioned from MetLife to Securian beginning January 1, 2026.

If you are enrolled in a Securian benefit and would like to go online to file and check status of claims, follow the steps below to access your portal:
To create an account at LifeBenefits.com please see the below information:
-User ID: RCG followed by your six-digit employee ID number
-Initial password: Your eight-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY) followed by the last four digits of your Social Security number
